Chris + Casie Surprise Proposal

Chris reached out to me on Instagram about planning a surprise proposal for his girlfriend Casie while they were on a family trip with their son in Portland. Of course I said yes! He mentioned that they wanted to do a trip out to the coast and asked if I had any suggestions on a location for him to propose. We settled on Cape Kiwanda and lucked out with an absolutely gorgeous day.

Chris wanted to keep everything a surprise so he told Casie to dress for a nice dinner, but nothing else. When I saw them arrive for a "walk on the beach" I let them wander for a bit before introducing myself as a local photographer that just had a couple reschedule due to food poisoning. I asked Chris, Casie, and their son if they'd be open to letting me take some family photos of them since I already had all my gear and it was such a beautiful day. After a few looks back and forth they agreed. About 5 minutes into the session I gave Chris our cue and he got down on one knee right on the edge of the ocean. I'll let the pictures show how the rest turned out. Spoiler: she said yes.
